Every year brings a new wave of visual trends, but 2026 feels different. Clients are asking for interfaces that feel calmer, more tactile, and less like everything else in their feed. Here’s what we’re seeing across our own projects.
1. Quieter color palettes
Bright, saturated gradients are giving way to muted, warm neutrals with a single accent color doing the heavy lifting. It reads as more confident and ages better than a trend-chasing palette.
2. Tactile, skeuomorphic detail
Flat design isn’t going anywhere, but small skeuomorphic touches, soft shadows, subtle highlights, pressed button states, are creeping back into buttons and cards. It makes an interface feel like it responds to you.
3. Real photography over illustration
Stock illustration is being replaced by real, warm photography, especially on marketing pages. It builds more trust and feels less templated.
4. Motion with restraint
Micro-interactions are staying, but they’re getting shorter and quieter, a nav that slides in cleanly, a button that gives a soft press, nothing that competes with the content.
5. Accessibility as a default, not an add-on
Clients are asking about contrast ratios and keyboard navigation earlier in the process, not as a final audit. That’s a genuinely good shift.
If any of this sounds like where your brand wants to go, we’d love to talk about it.
